Petricore
Description
Everything begins with the encounter with the word petrichor: the distinctive scent released when rain falls on earth that has long been dry.
Giving a name to that vivid image, to that lucid memory, sparks the desire to speak the unspeakable and render the invisible visible.
Through the exploration of the relationship between three bodies attempting to inhabit one another’s future, the work unfolds in vortices, in the listening of external tensions striking the body, in hand-held walks, and in a flow that approaches the dimension of dream.
What emerges is the enactment of a possible, new petrichor.

Tracce | Looking for a place to die

Description
“What I once was no longer remembers what I am now.
Speak to me of death, of the end of everything,
so that I may feel a reason to remember.”
— Fernando Pessoa, The Mariner
Three bodies take shape in figures that evade blinding light by exposing themselves to darkness.
There is an elsewhere-space, where the present — something that may already have been or might still exist — can only be remembered or imagined.
Tracce | Looking for a Place to Die is a journey in search of a living-with and a dying-with: a crisis to be crossed through what Donna Haraway describes as the game of cat’s cradle — “a practice of knots and zigzags requiring passion and action, moments of stillness and sudden gestures, anchoring and propulsion.”
Performed at:
Festival La Sfera Danza — Vigonza
Supercinema di Tuscania
Teatro Florida — Florence
Officine Caos — Turin
Review
“The stage becomes a suspended moment of breath, where dance enters into a choreographic interplay of light and darkness, and where body and shadow continually pursue one another.
The three performers engage tirelessly in this game, moving in and out of the spaces thus created, through a compelling choreography rich in resonances for the spectator.”
— Mario Bianchi, KRAPP’S LAST POST
